Ocean pollution is an out of sight, out of mind kind of situation. Pollution enters the ocean through how humans dispose of waste, accidents and carelessness. Ocean pollution destroys everything and there are multiple types of ocean pollution. There’s thermal, oil, plastic, and chemical pollution. Over 80% of ocean pollution is from land based activates which are careless. Ocean pollution causes hundreds of deaths to ocean plants and animals because of human negligence to the ocean.

There have been multiple oil spills in the ocean and people try to clean it up but plant s and animals still die from it.
Plastic does not breakdown easily and it is very dangerous to the animals. Plastic is mainly mistaken for food by marine animals. When the marine animals eat the plastic it can and will block the breathing passages and the stomachs of marine animals. In millions pounds of trash most is plastic and half of that ends up in the oceans water. Plastic also can wash up on the shore and kill land animals.
Chemical pollution also doesn’t break down easily. Chemicals accumulate in most organisms in the ocean. Tiny animals in the ocean absorb the chemicals as they feed.
