In this following investigation, I will be trying to find and test out, if a triathlon would be won by someone who is very strong in one event and average in the other two, or someone who is relatively strong in all three events. In order for the investigation to be highly accurate and reliable, there would be an assumptions made to the speeds of the competitors in each of the events.

Results needed to prove prediction and hypothesis
In order to investigate, a lot data would be needed. Data that would be need is as follows: Time taken for the competitors who are strong in 1 event but are average in the other 2 events to complete the triathlon and the time taken for the competitors who are relatively strong in all 3 events to complete the triathlon. Time taken for each event for each of the competitors would also need to be taken down to record the overall speed, that both speed and time used for each competitor can be taken down so that the winner of the triathlon can be determined. Furthermore, if my prediction and hypothesis were correct, the time taken for each event for a person who is relatively strong in all 3 events would have times shorter in 2 events compared to a person who is strong in 1 event and is average in the other 2. The overall speed taken for the triathlon for a person who is relatively good in all 3 events would also be higher than that of a person who is strong on 1 event but average in the other 2. The average time taken by the competitors who are strong in 1 event but average in the 2 would be calculated so that the time used to find out which type of competitor of a triathlon would win, hence the results used to find out the outcome would be more reliable than just by comparing each time of the different types of competitors.
What to look for in the results
In order to find out whether or not a competitor who is strong in 1 event but average in the other 2 would win in a triathlon or a competitor who is relatively strong in all 3 events of a triathlon would win; various results would be needed to tell who would win. The competitor’s time and speed taken for each of the events would be needed to be looked at so that times and speeds taken for each competitor to complete the triathlon could be compared to find out the results.
