My Field Trip To The John G. Shedd Aquarium

780 words - 4 pages

When I first told my parents about the 2nd Quarter Biology Project, they told me that I could choose where I wanted to go, and I knew I wanted to go to the Shedd Aquarium because I don’t really like zoo’s and I think that the botanical gardens are boring. So I told them I wanted to go to the Shedd Aquarium. About 2 weeks later on the second week of winter break, my mom said we are going to my grandmother’s house, and then we all got into the car at about 3:00 P.M. and headed out. When we got to my grandmothers house no one even got out of the car but my mom and stepfather and they went and grabbed the stroller out of her garage and we just left. We did not even go in my grandmother’s house. Then when we were driving, I asked my mom where we were going and she said the store. I asked, “What store,” and she replied the mall. I was tempted to ask what mall but I did not feel like it. Then I said “If we’re ...view middle of the document...

There really was not traffic so getting to the city was a breeze. When we pass Harlem Irving Plaza I know we are going to the Shedd because my Mom doesn‘t know any malls in the city to my knowledge. When we finally get to the Shedd around 6:30 I wake my brother Haze up and he starts crying and I wake my other brother Jr. up and he’s instantly awake. We then all get out of our car and it is freezing! We start running with my and my mom pushing the strollers and my Stepfather running with my brothers. When we get inside I can barely feel my fingers and neither can the rest of my family. There was a long line, and then this person tells us that people with strollers can go in the short line with no one in it. Then the person told us it was a free day and we did not even know it. I then informed my mom again that I had no supplies and she said that she forgot about that and we asked an employee could we borrow a pen and she said yes. Then my siblings went to the bathroom while I am trying to get ready. Then we all decide to take a photo when we leave and we entered to examine the Shedd Aquarium's exhibits.
When we leave at around 8:00 my brothers are tired and so am I because I was a little bored. We then took a photo of all of us at the Shedd and said that our mission was to get inside of the car fast enough without freezing our butts off, but when we got outside it was not that cold! I then took a photo next to the huge statue hold a statue of a huge fish and almost slipped on the ice coming down out of the slippery terrain. I then raced my brothers to the car where my brother Haze almost slipped, but I caught him. Then my other brother Jr. was bragging that he won getting to the car fastest and no one really cared. So we all got back in the car and I asked my mom could we eat in the city and she said no because my brothers were tired. So we drove home, with no traffic, stopped at Little Caesars to get 2 pepperoni pizzas and some crazy bread, and made it home at about 9:30, where we all ate, my family went to sleep, and I stayed up all night watching movies, and that was my field trip to the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
