My Philosophy of Teaching
Education is an important aspect in the lives of all individuals. From the day we are born until the day we die, we are constantly learning. At a very young age, children begin attending school. Throughout their educational career, children have many different teachers who hold many different views, beliefs, and values. Methods of instruction, personalities, and classroom interaction are all unique to the teacher. Some teachers may come in each day just because it’s their job, and they need the paycheck. Yet, the ones who are there for the success of their students are the ones who truly make a difference.
I believe the success of a student depends tremendously on the teacher. Teachers have the power to make their students succeed. Every teacher makes a difference in their student’s lives in some way or another. Effective teachers have positive impacts on the lives of many of their students. Since teachers have the power to make a difference in the lives of their students, they also have the power to change the history of the world. One small thing a teacher does or says can affect a students live forever. “The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau”
It is important for teachers to be aware of this. They need to be a leader or a role model when they walk through the classroom door. Teachers should be passionate and knowledgeable about their subject matter. More importantly, teachers should be passionate about teaching. They should have enthusiasm for the teaching, as well as an enthusiasm for their content area. Teachers should pass this enthusiasm onto their students and gain their interest in the subject.
