Introduction: Non-verbal communication
Communication is a worldwide skill used among people to talk to each other and clarifybeliefs, thoughts and opinions or build relationships with one another; however, this is not the only form of communication. Non-verbal communication entails of communication without words; it is displayed by the body and actions of a person sharing them. This type of communication is important when understanding human behavior. Does non-verbal communication difference among cultures?
Thesis statement: Non-verbal communication is as important as what people say; however, if not examined carefully can be misinterpret because of lack of awareness. This lack of knowledgecan cause misunderstandings in everyday life.
Good communication is an essentialvalue for successful relationships, whether personal or professional. Many researchers have stated that most of our communication is non-verbal. Non-verbal communication includes body language, facial expressions, gestures, eye contact, posture, and the tone of our voice. The ability to understand and use non-verbal communication is great skills that will help individualsconnect with others, when trying express feelings, handlingdifficultsituations and creating relationships with other in various places.Non-verbal communication is the body way of sending messages between people. These messages can be sent through emotions, gestures, engagement, voice tone, posture, and clothing.
Non-verbal communication can sent a different message than a verbal conversation. Non-verbal can have meanings in objects as well. Non-verbal communication is avitalconnection whether personal, business and international. Non-verbal communication is known to be used by individuals that are deaf, but it is used by everyone in everyday communication. Many people are unaware that a fraction of human communication is non-verbal and that it exists in our conversations every day. It is known as a soundless form of communication which has a great impact in our social environment.
Non-verbal communication is the approach of communication through behavior and body language whichcomprises communicating thru facial expressions, gestures and eye contact. When people are communicating, a hugeproportion of the message being taken is sentby body language and behaviors. Other form of non-verbal communication requires using of kinesics, paralanguage and spatial usage (Durant, 2009).Non-verbal communication is used to form and retaininterpersonal relationship. The use of non-verbal communication is sometimes the sole network for communication of a message. People acquire to identifying facial expression, body movements, body placing as corresponding with specific feelings and purpose. Therefore, non-verbal communication is more significant in understanding human behavior more than words.
