Technology continues to explode and be analyzed and revised constantly in healthcare, nursing informatics is an area that will continue to expand as nursing continues to change. With health care needs also steadily increasing, it is necessary to compile and retrieve patient information in an efficient manner. Thus nursing informaticist was developed. Nursing informatics (NI) is the very heart of the nursing field, saving and enriching the quality of lives every day. Informaticists engage in various aspects of patient care, essentially acting as an inter face between the nursing and technical worlds. Informatics combined with healthcare is one of the most successful ideas brought to the table and now implemented into any career field dealing with health care.

The importance of the internet and wireless technology became paramount to efficiency in patient care.
Nursing informatics technology is constantly evolving with science and medicine. Systems and software have been implemented to assist in every aspect of nursing. The vast usage of these tools have made healthcare profoundly effective. These unprecedented advancements have undoubtedly saved millions of lives. The primary goal of an informaticist is to improve the health and quality of healthcare individually received by optimizing information management with computerized methods. Nurses develop and apply these methods daily collaborating with various discipline within the health system. It is their collective wisdom that makes the necessary impact. Information technology is not the focus; it is the information it conveys that is central. The centerpiece of informatics is the manipulation of data, information, and knowledge, especially related to any decision making in any aspect of nursing or in any setting (McGonigle, D. & Mustrian, K.pg95). In the future, we can expect to see the improvements in healthcare grow rapidly, as will the demand. However, the core of nursing informatics will remain; it is the science and art that transforms data into knowledge thereby enhancing patient care.
Infromaticists are involved in designing systems and developing databases to facilitate accurate patient care. They evaluate tools, applications, and processes utilized b nurses to interpret and organize data, modifying them as necessary to meet the dynamic challenges in the healthcare field. Adapting to the instant changes in medicine is essential to the informatcicist as well. (McGonigle, D. & Mustrian, K.).
In conclusion, informaticists play vital roles in evaluating and developing technology to ease the workload of nurses and help ensure accuracy of records. NI can be very rewarding career. The future is bright as healthcare is in high demand. Clinical experience paralleled with solid technologically savvy and determination makes success inevitable.
