Ornithology
   Ornithology is a branch of zoology that deals with the study of birds, and ornithologist studies the variety of things on birds such as bird anatomy, behavior, biology, evolution, ecology and physiology. For an ornithologist, there is no standard or even an average starting salary because few people are hired strictly as ornithologist. Instead, they are hired as teachers, professors, wildlife biologists, environmental scientists, environmental educators, ecologists, tour leaders, and etc. The salary ranges applies to those fields and the organization that is hiring. Finally, you need to have a knowledge of software like Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Microsoft Office softwares in order to record and analyze data.
   There are several positive aspects in the field of ornithology. First, you get to hang out with the birds most of the time. I mean if you are bird enthusiastic, then this should be a good thing for you. What I mean to say is you do some bird walking and do some research on your lab. Also, if you like photography then take this as a part-time job too (just a suggestion). You can take pictures of the birds and you can use them as your new subjects or topic. They will be great for your portfolios! Furthermore, you get to do birdwatching, conserving and managing endangered or extinct birds.
   If there are positive aspects, then are negative aspects in this field too. As mentioned earlier, an ornithologist's salary is between $5,000 to $150,000. That is not all. The salary is also depends on their level of education and the organization that hires them. Secondly, There is a lots of tremendous work and as their typical day goes on, they could do any random things. If you are not a type of person who does a lot of work every minute, then this is not job for you again. Third, ornithology is not one of the demanding jobs in the United States due to the economy right now.
