Equal employment opportunity has the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which was created to help with discrimination issues and enforce laws prohibiting discrimination in workplaces. Reading this article shows that women still have are not where they could be in high positions. It seems that there are still more barriers against women than minorities. Many women still deal with the glass ceilings effect more than that of other minorities groups which include African-American, Latino, Hispanic, Indian, and Asian men. The Civil Rights Acts does give women an advantage but societies sets glass ceilings especially for women.
Authoritarian are leaders who solely control the decision on policies, assign task, and are product oriented in organizational management. Also authoritarians prefer task to perform well, precise, organize, and believe that the top of the ladder holds the most power in organizational management. The laissez faire leadership style give decision making freedom, and hands off approach in organizational management. They take the role as a facilitator and do not really contribute to a group unless they are called to which causes low production. Democratic leadership style promotes decision making, open minded to change, and involve themselves in group projects without becoming a controlling.
The way authoritarian leadership style affects the productivity of the workgroup is a negative way. Authoritarian leadership productivity rises quickly at the start but diminishes quickly and hard. With the authoritarian leadership productivity is not at a high because change and adaption to it is not encouraged.
