Paper 9 Option A

707 words - 3 pages

The career path that I choose will involve me being a strong, motivated, and productive leader who is committed to my job. For a long time I was indecisive about which path I wanted to take towards my career and choice of permanent employment. However, after years of working with different types of business organizations, I have realized that I would end up being more of a leader than I am a follower.
As with any new job, the position that you are given is usually not the highest paid position in the organization and if you are not in charge of the company, the company is in charge of you. In other words, if you do not learn quickly and value the normative commitment you agreed to take on, they will replace you with a better employee, and there are a lot of those waiting for you to lose your job. Moreover, I do believe that in order to keep a good job with a great organization, you must be committed, motivated to work, and efficiently productive to the organization.

Job commitment is usually one of the biggest factors that can make or break a company because of the amount of employees that are working just for the paycheck instead of to help their company grow as an organization. For example, I work for a privately owned medical business. We rely greatly on customers as well as retail sales. When everyone is committed to their role in the company, the results are great for the company. On the other hand, if one or more people were to slack off their commitment to their roles, it would not only affect their...
