In the scholarly journal article Paradigms of Knowing in Communication Research by Baxter & Babbie hypothesis is ways to solve the problem people have as public speaker looking into all age groups by looking at it through the lens of a communication scientist. The speaker looks into many experiments tested by others to specify different areas that help find what the problem for public speaker levels of anxiety came from or how it began. Even though the article information is narrow, it provides insight on ways to improve anxiety as a public speaker. The article achieves this by using organization skills throughout the paper, the interpretation of the results was well read and the article helped create significance study on the topic to help those with the anxiety problems.
The main points are that the many different studies done with different experiments came with many different outcomes. Researcher A is curious in searching for the reason people have different anxiety levels. The consequences are that the both groups vary in the outcomes vary in their communication levels and to searching for a reason for this behavior. The researcher approach used positivist research practice. This helps justify the underlying meaning through different methods. However, researcher B wants to look into the way body language effect the speaker behavior compare to the way they speak. This helps to look how this two theme interacts with the other. Researcher C wants to look into the anxiety level as a public speaker and the outcome by looking at what someone will do to not be called upon in class. Researcher D is also interested in public speaking anxiety levels and the results are boys are allowed to speak in public more than girls who are usually silenced.
The discussion helps the different views when it comes to studying different topics even though they are related by the same topics of anxiety levels. Sociology helps us find different paradigms, including positivist paradigms, the systems tradition, the interpretive tradition, and the critical tradition. These are important to understand due to first, to admire the different ways we can study and also to look at research when it comes to testing experiments. Second, the way the standards are reviewed through the different way by experimenting are justify based on the different methods that are used when tested. This is significant to understand customs surroundings an exact analysis in order to understand the results by analyze the results. This all helps understand social behaviors when testing experiments using this research method that can be used any subject not just communication.
