Personal Essay: Photography, My Hobby

I remember when I was younger it never cross my mind to be a photographer, I always had this crazy idea about being a Mafia leader, cause they seem interesting to me. As I grew up, I realized that Mafia leaders have money, cars and everything they could possibly dream off but they did not get that legally. Then I started to lean towards a more positive goal in life Along the way I kept changing my mind about what I wanted to be Since photography is my new hobby, it has affected my life, therefore it became my new passion, and my family got involved, and helped me plan my future.

In addition, my parents helped me with transportation. For example, each week I would have a new assignment for class and since I was eager to do be the best in class I always wanted to go to a different place to get pictures. I could not drive because I did not have a license or vehicle so I had to rely on my parents if I wanted to go somewhere. Every weekend they would go to Seattle to hang out with their friends and give me the opportunity to walk around and take pictures, if they were not willing to drive farther I would not get all those good pictures.
Secondly, photography was my new hobby that later on became my passion. When I first started taking pictures I was clueless and I thought it was boring. As time went by I started to get more and more into photography; my teacher Mr. Waeshle noticed how eager I was to learn. Mr. Waeschle was excited about me wanting, that he constantly made me try out different techniques and different lenses the way I can see the difference and how they work. He saw that I had a good eye for photography, so he was always encouraging me to take pictures and enter my pictures in competitions. For instance the first time I entered my pictures it was not in a contest. A local hospital wanted some of our school pictures so they can be displayed in the hospital waiting area. About three-hundred pictures were submitted and only eleven of then were chosen to be displayed, one of those eleven pictures was mine. I was really excited that one of my pictures was chosen that I entered a few of my pictures in a state contest for all the high schools in Washington State.
