Pollution has become a big problem on the environment over the years. Pollution is affecting our way of living. Their are many different types of pollution. Some forms of affect our air. Others affect our water and soil. We the people are responsible for the pollution rate increasing. We are building things that are creating pollution and hurting the environment. In some areas pollution is declining but in others it is rising.
Pollution happens in different ways. The most known form of pollution is air pollution. Air pollution really affects the environment in a bad way. It is often caused by cars and factories giving off harmful carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming and climate change. Air pollution also destroys our ozone layer which lets in harmful ultraviolet rays from the sun. Its also causes breathing problems for animals which can lead to their death.
Another form of pollution is water pollution. Water pollution is bad for the environment because it leads to decline of freshwater which means their isn't enough water to support life forms and ecosystems. Animals that drink the water filled with harmful chemicals experience poisoning deaths. Water pollution also creates “Death zones” where animals and plants can’t live there due to lack of oxygen. This can lead to the extinction of some animals like the Yangtze River dolphin. It also causes difficulty breathing for fish in the water.
A severe form of Pollution is nuclear waste pollution. Nuclear waste pollution can occur during nuclear accidents such as Chernobyl and Hiroshima. This form of pollution is extremely dangerous because nuclear waste stays active for at least 5000 years and causes the death of many animals. Oil spills is a form of pollution similar to nuclear waste because it happens by accident and is extremely dangerous. Oil spills cause massive and long-term damage to marine wildlife. Animals get trapped in the oil and die....
