The world runs on energy. Without energy society as a whole would be lost; thus it is important to conserve energy today in order to prepare for a better tomorrow. By saving energy there is a lower demand for non renewable resources such as coal, oil, and natural gas. The less fossil fuels that are burned, the lower emission of carbon dioxide is release into the atmosphere which contributes to global warming. Many people believe that in order to conserve energy, they must go without or buy fancy products; however, technology has advanced for the better in means of conserving energy. There is now an energy efficient alternative for almost every kind of appliance or light fixture. That means that the consumer has the choice and the power to change their usage of energy on a revolutionary scale. It is important for the little league coach, the farmer, the teacher, the business man, the third grader, the college student, and society in general to know why conserving energy is important and how easily conserving energy can be accomplished, so that the world will become a better place.
Face it; the twenty first century is here. Conserving energy is simple as it has ever been. So why does the world not put forth the extra effort to conserve energy? It is the fact that people are uneducated on the subject of conserving energy. By cutting down on the amount of energy used, one will notice a difference in their bills.
The first way to conserve energy is by monitoring home appliances. Make sure the refrigerator is running on the correct setting, it accounts for about 20% of household electricity.
