Sierra SuttonGreg, LoydENC1102September 23,2014Pro-Life or Pro-Choice…..Recently, I read "Arguments for and Against Abortions" that discussed the history of the abortion debate. I found that there are two major groups who often have heated discussion about their belief on whether abortion is right or wrong choice for women to do. Abortion… one of the most talked about issues in our society today. What is abortion? It involves one terminating a pregnancy by removing or expelling of a fetus or embryo from the uterus. Women and Men often find themselves facing the dilemma of whether or not to end a pregnancy. People have often had differences in opinion about this controversial topic because some feel that it is unethical as it regards to legal, cultural, and religious views. Most people are either all for, or against having the abortion procedure being done they're very few who are undecided about this issue. There are many high-profile groups two in particular that acclaim either Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. United States pro-life groups feel there should be greater restrictions on abortion or even ban it. They argue that a human fetus is a human being with a right to live, so to them abortion is like murder. In contrast, you have the pro-choice organization that says women have the reproduction rights, to make the choice on whether or not she wants to carry a pregnancy to term. So many questions are raised when it comes to this matter. Is having an abortion is right or wrong? To me abortion is every women's right. Pro-life will argue statement such as abortion is murder, if a woman is willing to have sex, she's knowingly taking the risk of getting pregnant, and should be responsible for her actions, adoption is a viable alternative to abortion, and rape doesn't justify an abortion just to name a few.As expected, there are many people who are opposed to abortion. Thesepeople are referred to as "pro-life", they pretty much advocate the life of the baby over women's right to choose. One of their main causes to why pro-life doesn't condone abortion, is that they feel "life begins at conception", and that a fetus is a human being. To them "abortion is akin to murder as it is the act of taking a human life"Arguments For and Against Abortion | SexInfo Online. Web. 24 Sept. 2014". As I think about this statement that pro-life often claim, I realize that I do not agree with any part of it, I am content with pro-choice over pro-life they believe again that women should have access to whatever care she needs and that she should have control over her own body . I'm not going to convince you that a fetus isn't a life but here are some things to think about, nearly all abortions take place during a woman's first trimester. The fetus cannot exist independent of the mother because it is in fact attached by the placenta and umbilical cord , its health is dependent solely on its mothers health and can't be regarded as a separate being since it can't exist...
