Problem Solution: Interclean Essay

2112 words - 8 pages

The purpose of this paper is to provide an insight to Human Capital Development and how it can be applied to InterClean, Inc. Currently, InterClean has created a strong force in the market by ways of applying commitments in the sales of their industrial cleaning and sanitation products and services. With operational success rate of $8 billion dollars, InterClean is hopeful they can promote their organization into a solutions-based organization that will continue to impact the institutional and industrial cleaning and sanitation industry. Focus is stapled on providing clients with a turn-key solution that maintains new governing regulations set for by OSHA. In addition, InterClean acquired an organization called EnviroTech who has made a focused point on the customer and market results. Though this may impact overall business strategies in the beginning, it may help point out areas of needed improvement, concerns and an assessment of the product offerings. In this paper I will demonstrate and apply concepts surrounding Human Capital Development as well as how to build a foundation for Human Resource Management (HRM) within the InterClean organization. The major focus for this paper will be surrounding communication, hiring new employees, employee satisfaction, training and development as well as product and service focus. Lastly, a Human Resources line of business plays a special role in the organization by facilitating changes within the organization that affect employees, training and development, staffing and incentive pay. With this, I hope to capture HRM best practices to share.Situation AnalysisIssue and Opportunity IdentificationOne of the major areas of focus for InterClean is their product and service offerings to the customer. Because InterClean has made a substantial impact in the sanitation industry, it is important to keep on top of the game by adhering to new governing laws set forth by OSHA and listening to customer needs and wants. InterClean is faced with a few commitments; one of them is initial revamping their product and service offering, next, ramping up their Sales Team for product commitment and focus as well as hiring new staff to help face challenges and move forward to promote a positive impact. In hopes to carry out the commitments above, David Spencer, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is taking the lead to organize InterClean and establish a foundation to build upon and move forward. InterClean needed to make a new direction stronger, to help their products comply within the governing environmental safety laws. The initial thought is to train current employees on new products and services offered as well as hire new team members to help carry out the business goals domestically and internationally. To compliment that thought, it is also important to develop a competitive advantage in the market. Their task at hand is to update their materials to meet required environmental standards and ensure they are...
