“Methodology is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study, or the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a branch of knowledge. It, typically, encompasses concepts such as paradigm, theoretical model, phases and quantitative or qualitative techniques”. (Irny, S.I. and Rose-2005) .

3.3. Consideration of Population
Area of study for this desperation is the software industry of Lahore, Pakistan. Only those software houses are consulted for this research, that are not yet completely following any world class quality model in the development of software products or projects. These software organizations are required to perform five different operations with the help of separate independent teams. These teams are named as Software Development, Software Quality Assurance, Technical Writer, Configuration Management and Implementation.
3.4. Research Sample
“According to Saunders et al., (2008) the sampling techniques provide a range of methods that enable researcher to reduce the amount of data needed and allow to collect data by considering only data from a subgroup. The research sample can be built by two methods, probability and non-probability sampling techniques.”
The simple random probabilistic sample technique is applied in deciding research sample. The probabilistic can also be applied but the resource data was not large. The collection of engineer’s database was difficult to approach. It was only made possible to collect data from the 100 experts belonging from 4 different but same types of organizations. These organizations consist of five major departments named as Development, Quality Assurance, Technical Writers, Configuration Management and Implementation & Support. A different percentage is assigned to each department based on their involvement during the software development process. The percentage assigned to each department is given in the following table.

3.5. Quantitative Research Strategy
I applied quantitative research strategy for the analysis of collected data. According to Saunders et al. (2008)  the qualitative research is the collection, recording, processing and interpretation of research data in quantitative methods. In order to follow quantitative research the data is collected with the help of structure close ended questionnaire by using likert rating scale methods; the collected data is re-code numerically to make it applicable for quantitative methods; the data is processed with SPSS a quantitative data analysis software; and data is interpreted with the help of quantitative table and graphic. One of the implications of quantitative research is that it is difficult to understand for layman so to make it easy, the qualitative interpretation is included to describe the result.
