Step 01: Document Setup
After opening Corel Draw on your machine, go to the Menu Bar and select File > New. A blank document will appear. You will also notice the Property Bar above. Here you can adjust the Paper/Size Type to Letter 8.5" x 11" and the Orientation to Portrait.
Step 02: Margins
To set Margins, go to the Layout Menu > Page Setup. This will open the Options Window. Double click on Guidelines to the left. Under Guidelines, select Presets. This open the Presets Window where you will select User Defined Presets. Select Margins. Set Top and Left to "0.3" inches, then check the Mirror Margins Box. Click Ok.
Step 03: Rounded Rectangle Dimensions
The first thing that you will add to this Flyer will be a Rounded Rectangle. Go to the Toolbox and select the Rectangle Tool. This will make the Property Bar: Rectangle active. Enter the Rectangle Dimensions in the Object Size Boxes. The Top box is for the Width and the Bottom box is for the Height. Set Widthto 8.05 and Height to 0.46. The Rectangle will look like this:
Step 04: Rectangle Corner Roundness
On the Property Bar: Rectangle, where you see these Rectangle Corners, allows you to set Rectangle Corner Roundness. Make sure that Round Corners Together is selected. Select the Up Arrow on any one of these 4 Boxes and set to "50". Notice that the numbers will change for all the boxes. The Rounded Rectangle will look like this:
Step 05: Uniform Fill Window
Now we need to change the Rounded Rectangle's Color. To do this, select the Pick Tool from the Toolbox, then select the Rounded Rectangle. Go to the right of the screen where you will see the Object Properties Docker. If it is not already docked on your screen, go to the Menu Bar and select Window > Dockers > Properties. The Object Properties Docker will then be pinned to the right of the screen. On the Fill Tab, which is the 1st visible Tab, select Advanced which will open the Uniform Fill Window. On the Models Tab, select the Down Arrow to the right side of Model and select RGB from the list that appears. This will allow you to enter RGB Values for your Custom Color in the Components Section. For the Orange Bar, set R to 255, G to 102, and B to 0. Click OK. The Bar will now look like this:
Step 06: Object Properties Docker
Notice it still has a Black Border. To change this, select the Bar and go to the 2nd Tab (Outline Tab) on the Object Properties Docker....
