Professional Workplace Dilemma

Professional workplace dilemma is something that happens all the time in every workplace. Ethics has to do with our own personal feelings to do what is right or wrong. Work ethics has to do with not only our own personal feelings about our jobs or careers, but it also involves attitudes, respect, behavior, communication, and how we get along with others in the workplace. Work ethics demonstrates whom and how a person is. Work ethics involves honesty, accountability, and integrity. The purpose of this paper is to describe a workplace dilemma I had, by describing the ethical issue, who was involve, what was the relationship of the other individual to me?

I been at my current employer four years, I am currently a packaging team lead operator. I am an individual who treats everyone the same. A year ago I became very good friends of an individual whose initials are G.M. we sat together for breaks and lunches, I used to talk to her about personal problems, and she used to do the same. She has been working there for about three years, and all the sudden she was acting very strange, she was getting upset if I spoke to the other coworkers, she started to get involved in all the gossiping that was going on in the department. Although I am a person who likes to get alone with everyone in the department, I am very honest, if I do not like something you do or say I will let you know, and maybe come to an agreement or solution on how to solve the problem.

One of the biggest issues, was that because I am a lead, there is things that I cannot say to the rest of the crew, there is things that need to be kept confidential, and G.M. did not like that, she used to tell me that if I kept things from her, I was not a friend to her, many times I tried to explain to her that when we have management meetings, there is things that I cannot communicate to her, because of company policies. We started not sitting together on breaks and lunches, she started to spread rumors about myself, and most of them were not even true. It came to the point in which I was having conflicts with the rest of my coworkers.
