Being a military veteran can have both positive and negative effects on one’s ability to maintain a job and socialize with other people. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is usually a problem with soldiers coming back from war, although after a veteran recovers from it, it creates great job opportunities. Business leaders recognize how useful a military veteran is in the work force. Veterans tend to show great responsibility, leadership, and team work which make them the ideal employee for many jobs.

Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder have been known to occur over a year after the traumatic event. Anniversaries of the event might cause some unpleasant feelings to the individual and cause unwanted emotions.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder must be diagnosed by a professional, although the symptoms are very clear. Health professionals that can help conclude Post Traumatic Stress disorder are psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, licensed trauma professionals, and bereavement specialists. One starts showing symptoms after he or she experiences or observes a traumatic event such as a murder or a car crash. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is now being added to the list of medical marijuana worthy conditions. Dr. Mathew Davis believes that medical marijuana might help sooth Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and cut down the number of outbursts caused by it. More than 100,000 people have medical marijuana cards, including 86 who are under the age of 18, according to the department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
There are many types of therapy that can be given with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. “Cognitive- Behavioral therapy has been shown to be very effective for people who develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This type of therapy helps someone adopt new thoughts and behaviors in place of destructive or negative ones, while safely revisiting aspects of the trauma”(New 2). Many specialists believe that medical marijuana might help people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, although there are still many who disagree or have a bad feeling about this action. With medical marijuana cards being handed out so easy, it wont be long before people start abusing the system.
There is a lot of diversity of thought when recommending which type of therapy will have the best effect on people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is classified as a mental condition and needs to be treated properly for the safety of not only the person that has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but all of the civilians around the person. Re-experiencing the traumatic even could be caused by little things like the smell in the air that the person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder smelled before the traumatic event, or a person that looks like another person the victim saw before or during the event. The sound of ambulance or fire truck sirens can even trigger a relapse or outbreak of the victim of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Since so many things can cause an outburst from the person with the condition, it is very important that when the person starts showing symptoms of the disease it is important that that person sees a mental health professional before it starts...
