Reaping the Benefits of Clean Eating

Healthy eating or clean eating is not a diet but a lifestyle choice that can give your body numerous benefits. Some tend to choose fad diets just to remedy a health or weight-based situations, while some turn to clean eating. A healthy diet is when you consume a wide variety of whole, unrefined, and unprocessed foods that in their natural or close to the natural form. It should be high in healthy fats, lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and plenty of water.

Maintaining a healthy weight
Eating healthy is an effective way to maintain or achieve a healthy weight. Following a diet that consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats or fish will help immensely those who are overweight and obese. Exercise is more effective when combined with a healthy diet. By clean eating, you can lose weight even if you’re eating more. You can even lose as much as 20 lbs after several weeks just by eating healthy.

Build a stronger immune system
A strong immune system can be achieved by eating nutritious food and exercise. This is our body’s defense system against numerous disease and in case we do get sick, the immune system works overtime in fighting off the disease thus keeping it healthy should always be our priority. To ensure that the immune system is in tip top shape, always include fruits, vegetables, and yogurt as part of daily nutrition.

Boost energy levels
Proper nutrition also helps in boosting energy levels. Some people tend to choose coffee and sugar as energy boosters, however; these can only give you quick blood sugar spikes that crashes down eventually. Natural energy booster are foods that allow a slow and steady release of sugar, which makes you feel energized throughout the day. Foods that has protein and fiber is a recommended combination for boosting energy levels. Examples are oatmeal and fruit, apple slices and peanut butter, or cottage cheese and veggies.
