The soft drink Industry has grown and developed over years despite the fact that soft drinks are not recommended by physicians. People have been warned over and over and over again on consumption of soft drinks but we continue seeing prosperity of companies in this industry. To know the secret behind this prosperity I have researched on the promotion strategies of the companies in this industry. My research focused on the two leading soft drink companies; Coca Cola and PepsiCo Companies (Bachmeier, 2009). At the end of it all I found out the companies have the best strategies when it comes to promoting their products.

First of all, the company the company makes sure that its products are acceptable. Coca Cola drinks are accepted by consumers all over the world; the company also ensures that its products are affordable and it offers best price in terms of value everywhere (Dransfield, 2001). Lastly the company has made its products available anywhere people would want refreshment.
This company has also been engaged in global advertizing through such channels like the social media, sign boards, broadcasts, and the company has also used its brand name to sponsor social events such as sports (Dransfield, 2001). This has made Coca Cola brand to be the most recognized brand. The company uses extranets, intranets, and the internet as the channels of communication.
PepsiCo is the second largest and most popular soft drink company in the world. PepsiCo has its own strategies which are almost similar to those of Coca Cola Company (Bachmeier, 2009). The company has also invested a lot in the use of social media has the channel of communication. There is no difference on the promotion strategies the two companies use to promote their products.

I found out that product promotion does not require the mind of a genius. Good strategies are all what is needed for successful promotion. Coca Cola and PepsiCo has prospered not because they started as big companies but only because they have better strategies for promoting their goods. I discovered that companies that engage in social activities do that as a way of promoting their products. The best way to promote a company’s products is to create brand identity, making products affordable, accessible, and acceptable. Above all these, a company should use the social media to promote products and to create a good relationship with customers.
Proper promotion strategy fosters customer loyalty, increase the amount of products sold to customers, and leads to growth and prosperity of companies. Another important thing is that a company should be quick in grabbing opportunities.
