They use algorithms on this data (Gigabytes to Terabytes) to segment the customers. It’s very important to get the result without any delays or they will lose their customers. So they implemented their solution using cloud computing. They chose Amazon EC2 which cloud computing service that allows users or organizations to rent virtual computers on which to run their own applications (Wikipedia.org). The result is improving in their efficiency by reducing the cost and the risk of delays.
Also, network performance is very critical in cloud computing. So there are many methods can be used to improve network performance:
1. Overlay Network: where providers use edge servers and optimization schemas to improve the performance.
2. Managed IP Network Service: where providers give private IP connection. So the connection is direct between the organization and the cloud company provider.
3. FASP (Fast And Secure Protocol): which ranges from a few times to hundreds of times faster than standard TCP (Wikipedia.com).
4. Dynamic caching, compression, and prefetching.
