“Get your Pho on!” at Noodle & Chopstick inside the Pho Green Papaya!
Noodles and Chopsticks is located on 2000 West 3500 South West Valley City, Utah. Inside the premises that displays “Pho Green Papaya” in bold green and red letters. I suspect that they haven’t had time to change the sign posted on the outside of the building, since they just re-opened after re-constructing its interior.
As soon as my family and I enter the building, I could smell the essence of the Pho's broth cooking. All of the spices and all of the ingredients gathered into a large basin, boiling for the new customers to come. Their staff also greeted us with a friendly welcome, which was really inviting to the environment. Booths were placed along two white and black painted brick walls and continued against the full-length blacked out windows. I thought was pretty neat, seeing that I could observe the outside world, yet maintain privacy while I enjoyed my order was simply amazing. Since the remodeling, the restaurant has change to a self- order diner. As I made my way to the counter that had an overview of the kitchen, I observed the workers making spring rolls, frying meat, and serving the house special (Pho) from the previous order. The menu was located in two different formats, one on a chalkboard that was very colorful and appealing to the eye, yet very clear on what was served. For our course meal we ordered a Kalbi Beef Banh Mi (Vietnamese Baguette Sandwich), Dac Biet - House Special Pho, Pad Thai - Stir fry noodles, and Thai Tea as a beverage. What I really liked aside from the food was the quality of the service. The food only took a couple minutes and it was brought to our table. When plates were at an end the waiters would come and take them away creating more available space on the table, and asking to re-fill our drinks when needed. We were very well taken care of.
The Shrimp/Pork spring rolls had a lovely combination of veggies, rice noodles, pork and shrimp. The peanut sauce that came along side with the dish gave the rolls an extra kick of flavor that was very satisfying. The pork pot stickers one of the...
