Speak for the silent stand for the broken and fight for the weak. The Rwandan genocide executed by the Hutu lasted for a span of 100 days. The Hutu’s took an estimated million innocent Tutsi lives. The Tutsi’s left susceptible to death, because no outside forces wanted to intervene. This genocide took a turn for the worst with the majority brutally slaughtering the minority in a fight for power.
Rwanda is a nation originally settled by the twa eventually became home to the minority Tutsi and Hutu being the majority. Both the Hutu and Tutsi groups spoke Rwanda and lived together for centuries. Although there were a few social differences between the two. The Tutsi had a strong pastoralist tradition, gained social, economic, and political ascendancy over the Hutu. Which lead to the Hutu uprising to occur on November 1st, 1959, after the rumored death of the Hutu leader at the hand of the Tutsi. The transition of power wasn’t easy estimated 20,000 Tutsi were killed and by the start of 1964 150,000 Tutsi were in nearby countries. Tension bean again in 1990 when Tutsi FPR invaded from Uganda. Shortly after in 1991 a cease fire was negotiated in 1991 but the Hutu extremist were opposed to a government transition including the FPR which lead to a wide spread awareness of their anti-Tutsi agenda.
