While Christianity and Islam are two of the largest religions in the world, and as a result they are the most controversial. When the reader finishes here they will know the differences and similarities between the religion and the sacred texts. They will know partially the reason why people fight so much and so hard between the two. This paper is not criticizing on either religion, but rather it shows the differences and similarities of each respectively.
Christianity was founded in Palestine in c. 30 AD. Christianity was primarily lead by Jesus, Peter, and Paul. Its main languages were in Aramaic and Greek. There are approximately two billion adherents worldwide today making this religion the largest in the world. The major branches would include the Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. Christians use the Bible, both New and Old Testaments. The inspiration of the text is viewed very different inspired human accounts, or of human origin only. Christians believe in that there is one creator, one God. But they believe that the nature of God is a Trinity or one substance but three persons. You also have other spiritual beings like the angels and demons. They viewed Jesus as the Son of God, God Incarnate, and or Savior of the world. He was conceived in a Virgin Birth. They believe Jesus was killed by death of crucifixion. And they affirmed that Jesus was resurrected and the second coming of Jesus. Any means of salvation they believe that with the correct believe, good deeds, and sacraments some just believe that faith alone, you can be saved. With a good afterlife Christians believe that you go to an eternal heaven. And with a bad after life you go to an eternal hell. Christians Houses or worships include Churches, Chapels, Cathedral, Basilica, or Meeting Hall. Their day of worship is on Sunday. Their religious leaders include priest, bishop, archbishop, patriarch, pope, pastor, minister, preacher, and deacons. Their major sacred rituals include baptisms and communions. The main central Holidays for them would include Christmas, Easter, Lent, and Holy Week. Their major symbols would include the cross, crucifix, dove, anchor, fish, alpha and omega, Chi-Rho, and the halo.
The Islamic religion was founded in 622 CE along the Arabian Peninsula. The founder and early leaded was Muhammad. Their main language is Arabic. There are approximately around one point three-billion participants today, making this religion the second largest in the world. Their major two branches include the Sunni and Shiite. Their sacred text is the Qur’an or also spelled the Koran. They look at their sacred text as the literal word of God. Their prophets are looked at as true prophets.
