In the efforts of advertising, creating good public relations, and the carrying out of its own personal selling efforts, companies add sometimes activities as supplement. These activities are called sales promotions and in a B2B setting it is called trade promotions. Sales promotions are kind of temporary things, some kinds of incentives urging customers to act quickly. We will mostly get interested in the B2C setting, i.e. sales promotions, in the setting of Burkina Faso, using three types of sales promotion: sample, contests, and loyalty programs. Then we will see if the infrastructure for sales promotions exist in all the countries.

No wonder the sales promotions are attracting a lot of customers as a bicycle is valuable to a student, and a motorbike is luxury that most student cannot afford.
As for loyalty programs, they are mostly used by mobile phone companies and travel companies. When you buy phone cards to credit your phone, or buy any type of recharge for your phone, your get accumulate some points that can be used later for free calls, of for internet connection, and even get some products like a new phone, rice, spaghetti, juice (at partner shops), and there are special sales promotions when the grand prize is a car. At such moments, we have like a rush, for people to buy phone credits and increase their chances of getting a car. Such, a prize depends on how much credit you buy, but it also depends on your luck. People really like such moments and the phone companies do sell much at these moments.

Speaking about the infrastructure for sales promotions, I think the required structures do not exist in all countries. Structure is not only the physical or financial aspects, but it may also be customer behavior.
