METODE PENELITIAN

Metode Penelitian dan Rancangan Penelitian

Pada bab ini akan dibahas hal-hal yang menyangkut tentang metode penelitian dan rancangan penelitian.

Metode Penelitian

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survey yang dirancang dengan maksud untuk memperoleh informasi tentang gejala-gejala pada saat penelitian. Penggunaan metode ini didasarkan pada kegunaannya bahwa survey selain untuk mendiskripsikan distribusi sampel berdasarkan variabel tunggal, tetapi juga dapat digunakan untuk menjajaki adanya hubungan antara dua variabel atau lebih. Penelitian survei merupakan penelitian yang mengambil sampel dari satu populasi dan menggunakan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpul data yang pokok. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini bersifat non eksperimen, tanpa adanya intervensi peneliti terhadap variabel-variabel penelitian.

Rancangan Penelitian

Populasi dan Sampel

Bagian ini akan menyajikan dengan rinci tentang besarnya populasi dan besarnya sampel termasuk didalamnya tentang teknik pengambilan sampel.

Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru Sekolah Sugar Group, mulai dari tingkat TK, SD, SMP sampai SMA.

Penentuan jumlah sampel dari populasi pada penelitian ini akan dihitung dengan menggunakan rumus Cochran, sebagaiberikut ;

t = tingkat kepercayaan (digunakan 0,95 sehingga nilai t = 1,96)

p = proporsi dari karakteristik tertentu (golongan)

1 = Bilangan Konstan

Teknik Pengambilan Sampel

Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik proposional random sampling yang didasarkan pada semua guru Sekolah Sugar Group yang ada di kecamatan Bandar Mataram berdasarkan karakteristik unit bekerja.

Variabel Penelitian

Variabel merupakan gejala yang menjadi fokus peneliti untuk diamati (Sugiyono, 2003:2). Pendapat lain mengatakan bagha variabel adalah gejala yang bervariasi yang menjadi titik perhatian suatu penelitian (Suharsimi Arikunto, 1998:99).
