In America you have your common fictional heroes Superman, Batman, and Spiderman who are highly praise. Us citizens disregard those who helped make America a better place; those who fought for segregation for example. Martin Luther King Jr. and Harriet Tubman believed in equality of race. Therefore, the ending of segregation was the form of civil disobedience; Martin Luther King Jr. and Harriet Tubman both were known for civil disobedience.However, they both had different philosophy, methods and goals.

Due to this she suffered from sleeping spells which caused her to go into a deep sleep. Additionally, she also started to have illusions and stated to have conversations with God. She believed that god gave a everyone a special calling in their lives.She believed her calling was to help free slaves. Harriet Tubman stated,
“Twant me, 'twas the Lord. I always told him, 'I trust to you. I don't know where to go or what to do, but I expect you to lead me,' and He always did.”
Therefore, the trust she had for God was what made her be brave and courageous to free slaves.
With this in mind, after Harriet Tubman escaped a year later she went back to help her family memeber and even non family member. In either case, Martin Luther King Jr and Harriet Tubman dislike segregation, just like they had different philosophy they also had different methods to help end segregation.
During the process of Martin Luther King Jr and Harriet Tubman reaching their goals they had specific methods they followed that they believe would lead them to success.In Martin Luther King Jr Letter From a Birmingham Jail he states
“ In any nonviolent campaign there are four basic steps:1) Collection of the facts to determine whether injustices are alive 2) Negotiation 3) Self-purification 4) Direct action.”
These methods were the ones that Martin Luther King Jr followed in order make progress. First, there was collection of the facts to determine whether injustices are alive by this he referred to learn about the issues that has arise. After gathering enough information decide if some type of unfairness is involved. Second, negotiate. A negotiation is a mutual discussion from both sides of the issues that come together to arrange an agreement. Third, there is self-purification. Martin Luther King Jr believed in orders to make progress in resolving an issue there must be a sacrifices made. Last, theres times when you try to negotiating to solve an issue and the two opponents can not come to an agreement. Therefore thats when you take direct action. Some examples of direct action are protest, campaign, petitions etc...
