Should Illegal Immigrants Be Made Legal Citizens?

788 words - 4 pages

A country like the United States of America has about 40 million immigrants, some that have become legal citizens and 11.1 million illegal immigrants. This county has many immigrants working and making this county a better place. The people you see on the side of the road fixing the streets, building houses, cleaning houses and gardening are immigrants. Before people start judging immigrants they should take the time to think who is building the things this country has. If all immigrants where to leave this county, who would build the houses? Who would clean them? I am sure someone that could get an education would not want to be cleaning houses or out in the cold or heat building houses. If only people would stop and think how much money this county would get by allowing immigrants to become legal. Legalizing immigrants would not only benefit this county but companies also. People would buy houses, cars, kids would start going to school, and more people would do taxes and a lot more. People would actually work legally and not take the risk of going to work illegally and doing jail time.
Being an immigrant in this county is kind of like being a prisoner. You are not allowed to do anything, you cannot work, cannot drive, cannot buy a house, forget about traveling out of the country you will not be allowed back in. You get up every morning hoping that nothing happens, that you don’t get caught working, or that immigration doesn’t find out that you are working illegally. People work to pay for the things they have knowing that they might have to leave it all behind. Many immigrants work and make enough just to pay for rent, cable, light and gas, clothes, food, and give their kids the best they can. This is why people get fake socials, fake ID’s, fake papers just so they could work, or they work cleaning houses, or construction in order to support their kids. If only they could actually open up their own company they would actually pay taxes and have the right paper work. This would be more money this country would get and this county would actually become safer. There are various people driving without a license just because they’re not allowed to get it the right way. Instead they...
