Simon Sinek Optimist
Simon Sinek described as “a visionary thinker with a rare intellect” is an optimist born in London, currently resides in New York. He believes everyone shall have a bright future. Sinek is also a trained ethnographer, who deals with scientific description of specific human cultures. He’s better known for his talk on the subject concepts of “Why” which is a book he wrote and the second most watched talk online. Being the optimist leader that he is, he has attracted international organizations such as Disney and NBC/Universal. During his traveling all over being a leader to so many different groups he has time to be a member of the RAND Corporation, Tami Stronach Dance Company, and various charities.
In watching Simon Sinek lecture where he really spoke about a lot including how we act as human beings was interesting and I could really relate to. Simon spoke a lot on giving back. For example, one can give money to the homeless and it goes unnoticed where as if you help build a school, then you will praise. Unfortunately, one won’t give to the homeless but in knowing or seeing someone else do a good deed their most likely to also do a good deed. That whole scenario really inspired me to do better for other. It’s not always easy giving money to strangers even with understanding that they may need it more than you, you rather hold the door for an elderly or help out at home. Simon not only inspired me to do more good deeds but in inspiring me, I inspire others.
Simon said “When we’re giving a clear destination, we use our own creativity, sense of innovation, and our own problem solving abilities to overcome obstacles to get to the destination. In other words the destination is more important than the route.” He goes on to explain not only to recognizing the steps you must take but that the steps positioned you closer to the destination.
