Social Inequalities of Women
In most parts all over the world some form of violence exists. It may emerge from all different sources but violence is violence whether it comes about in a pretty bow tied package or an ugly lump of matter. It is all around us. But contrary to popular belief, violence is not always the bloodiest battles or the longest wars. Sometimes it is the things that seem trivial and minute that can create the most violent of situations. And we see all throughout history that discrimination can be deemed as one of the most violent acts of man. All violence and/or conflict comes from some predisposed or preexisting problem. They are one in the same, or at least almost always mixed up in each other. As previously stated, women’s self esteem play a large role when dealing with most things. Making yourself feel better becomes one of the largest factors when self esteem is involved. One of the more popular ways to do that include tearing other women down, and in turn the mindset falsely becomes; this will make me feel better about my situation. Conflict occurs, and the problems of the women’s society become less and less trivial. In conjunction, the inequalities stemming from the problems we have with each other lead to jealousy. We want what the other has and vice versa. Whether it be material things or even a man. Going back to the Ancient Olympics, the women that were considered to be lower class were jealous of those who were thought of as above them. They wanted to be married and well off. Inequalities are responsible for the reason violence and conflict are so viable. We women are one of our own greatest downfalls,
in that we fail each other more often than not. However we also suffer from outside forces as well.
For as long as history has ever been recorded women have always been looked at as the weakling or the underdog. Back in the old days the roles given to women were always the lesser. They were the house wife, the stay at home mom, and almost always barefoot and pregnant as the saying goes. Now-a-days women are given a little more leeway and some women are very successful all on their own. However the problem raised is the amount of wage they are paid. If a man carried out and performed his job or career to a tee he would surely be sufficiently paid for his time and efforts. Why then is it not the same for a women? Sure they receive some amount of income, but studies have shown men with the same job description receive earnings that far surpass that of a women (Women's Earnings). The inequality lays in compensation.
Making a change in todays society would greatly change the way women think, act, and feel. All of the masses should accept women where they stand in their high social settings and work places. In doing so women will be seldom afraid of the...
