All the people who are directly or indirectly involved with the organization and project are called stakeholders. Stakeholders can be senior or junior and also they can be internal or external. In another words, stakeholders are those who have the power to effect or influence an organization in some way. Stakeholders are important to the success of any organization.
A stakeholder analysis is one type of methodology which is used to identify and determine the importance of people, institutions and group of people that may express the power of producing an effect to successful or unsuccessful of your project. The registries stakeholders group of gTLD is member of generic name supporting organization within the ICANN. The role of Registries Stakeholder Group within the Generic Names Supporting Organization is to describe the interests of all gTLD Registries and they have contract with ICANN to provide gTLD Registry Services. The Registry operators display the views of the Stakeholders to the GNSO Council and the Board of Directors which is related to particular operation of the domain name system. ICANN has three Supporting Organizations. The Generic Names Supporting Organization deals with policy making on generic top level domain names. The Country Code Names Supporting Organization deals with policy making on country-code top-level domain names. The Address Supporting Organization deals with policy making on IP addresses.
The GNSO is responsible for developing the policies of ICANN relating to gTLDs. The main aim of ICANN is to manage all level of global Internet's systems with unique identifiers.
This report mainly concentrate on gTLD and stakeholders. TLDs with three or more characters are known as gTLDs. There are seven gTLDs at present. Three of these are open to all persons or entities which is .com, .net, and .org. The other four gTLDs are restricted such as .int, .edu, .gov and .mil, only selected entities can use.
