Internet access has exacerbated a big problem to bullying. Online bullying is a has become a major issue in many schools. Even though some people think it’s not right for kids to be charged for certain things, students should be charged for bullying on online site because its demeaning to people and it will hopefully make kids feel more safe when going on social media site.

The bullying is just looking for risky attention so when they are bullying other kids it make them feel better about themselves. They can get a rise out of the person by hurting them physically, emotionally or just threaten them. The number one physical affects of being bullied is becoming depressed. When kids have symptoms of depression for being bullied and not being able to get help for their parents and other peers, some feel like they are useless to the world and commit suicide, cause bodily harm to themselves,and they become more isolated to the people around them. A Massachusetts case, 15 year old Phoebe Prince and immigrants from ireland, committed suicide in January by hanging herself after she was bullied by classmates. Another example is 14 year old Christopher David Jones was surrounded and beaten to death by gang members when he was riding his bike home from school. School districts are not that sure about where the line stops for them in helping kids that are not physically on school grounds. “it really says to the schools that even though they have a policy, and take some action against individuals then the bullying occurs, the school might be the one held liable for failing to create a more safe environment for their students.” (schools work to reduce). This example just shows how people are affected when there bullied by others.

The most important reason students should be charged for online bullying is because it will hopefully make kids feel safe when going on social media. I believe that if somebody higher than the average person like a judge does something, on the lines of punishing the bully for their actions.
