I would like to introduce myself as Rob Geis. Since my childhood I’ve been inclined to having a practical approach to everything in life and have been greatly supported and encouraged by my parents throughout. Having a house nearer to an airport and watching the planes take-off and land daily from the terrace was the first seed sowed in my heart that made me take up engineering so that I could be as nearer to my passion of aeronautics as possible.
In my high-school, I discovered my interest for physics and mathematics and this led me to choose Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering which included my interest of electronics and subjects related to aeronautics like control systems, computer engineering, automation and robotics, not to forget thermal engineering and fluid mechanics too. Having secured an aggregate of 91.6% in my High School, I’ve taken up Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for my classes 11 and 12 to be able to pursue engineering. Scoring 88.6% in my 11th and 12th I’ve had the chance of taking up Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Program at the GITAM Institute of Technology, GITAM University, one of the oldest and prestigious ranking universities of INDIA.
The field of computer engineering especially the control systems, automation and robotics has always enthralled me and automation is going to revolutionize the already fast paced lives in the modern world. It is a norm in every sphere of this world. And I hope that an MS in Computer Engineering form University of Southern California would put me in the forefront of this conquest. At GITAM Institute of Technology, GITAM University, I am currently honing my skills in the field of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering which in India is a field to Computer Engineering in the United Stated of America.
The reason behind my academic success is the enthrallment for the subjects of electronics like control systems, signal processing process control and automation. I have been updating myself on the recent trends, advancements and modern techniques being developed in these fields. In addition I am also acquainted with the subjects like Thermal Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Electronic Devices, Electrical Machines, Network Theory, Communication Engineering, Industrial Instrumentation, Digital Electronics, Linear and Digital Circuits, VHDL and Biomedical Instrumentation. I am also acquainted with computer languages such as C, C++, simulation software’s like Proteus, LABVIEW, AutoCAD, CATIA and basics of MATLAB.
During my undergraduate studies, the dawn to dusk classes to gain the scholarly and theoretical knowledge might have been the purpose of education for normal person, but for me, time spent in the classrooms was contemplative.
