Statement of purpose
When I was ten my uncle from USA gifted me and my sister an expensive remote controlled Puppy. Like all the gifts that were given to both of us, it didn’t last for long. We both wanted it for ourselves. But it was a different scenario then, I had felt guilt and the strong urge to do something about the damaged toy at the same time. I opened the RC puppy with the necessary tools and there I was baffled by what I saw, a small green board with holes and small things that I then couldn’t comprehend. I had to understand what I didn’t already know and then started my journey towards electronics and technology. That was my first important question for my journey.
All the way to my 8th standard I had become well acquainted with the subject mathematics, I had undergone Abacus training to enhance my calculating speed and accuracy. My father being a software engineer, I was fortunate enough to accompany him to the USA for a stay of two years and it is there that I had my schooling of 9th and 10th grade. I had come to like the education system in America. I had to return to India for my Intermediate studies (11th and 12th grade) and I had faced some trouble trying to cope up with the syllabus there, most of which I had no exposure to as I had a different course structure in the USA. I struggled during my first year of Intermediate, but my ceaseless efforts and strong will power earned me a Distinction at intermediate level with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as majors. From then on it had become my goal to get educated in a well established and research oriented Universities like yours from the word go of a new phase of my life.
My college education has helped me understand various electrical concepts both in theory and in practice. Out of sheer interest and under the proper guidance I have worked upon a mini project during my sophomore year of my undergraduate. It is titled Emf detector. I have worked on it to understand the physical aspects of electromagnetic waves and to understand the various applications of EM waves. From my good experience with Electronics Engineering studies, I developed a great passion for new Electronics oriented technology, which motivated me to become a student IEEE member with Communications Society membership. The collection of IEEE transactions served as a vast pool of knowledge and I had various opportunities to discuss select articles in the class seminars. My desire to venture in new areas of academics helped me to present a paper on “Nano Scale RFID” in VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology during their inter college Symposia. I have also done an IEEE project “High Quality Image Recovery from dark region Images using Adaptive Filter Technique”. To supplement the college courses was the experience I could gain from the training in Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL), a Missile System laboratory under the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
