Alcohol consists of one substance only, ethanol. Dagga contains 400 different chemicals, 60 of these have been proven to cause cancer. Alcohol is eliminated from the body in a few hours. THC, delta 9 tetrahydrocannabinol, the strongest intoxicating substance in dagga, stays in the body fat for months, even years. A person who smokes dagga 2 or 3 times a week is constantly under the influence of the substance. Dagga damages the bodies' immune system, which leads to greater susceptibility to infectious disease.
