Compared to the My Pyramid Food Guide, my normal diet was slightly below average. It lacked milk as I'm lactose intolerant. Recently I been exploring the use of soy milk, as I know milk is an important part of my nutritional needs, total fat consumed at 40% well over the recommendation of 35%, my saturated fat at 11% and was not less than the recommended 10%, Cholesterol was good. However my sodium way over the recommended intake, with the high fat and sodium intake I would say not with the recommended Food Daily Guided lines. Yes, the recommended servings from each food were achieved with the exception of milk, based on my average intake as it compares to the specific recommended according to the 2005 Dietary guidelines, was fair.
This guideline was based on rising chronic health problems in an aging population and changing food environment, being diagnosed with diabetes in 2009, I'm aware somewhat of what to eat (still learning) My average fluid intake is adequate, I constantly drink water because being a diabetic I'm always thirsty, I found that drinking soda or juice does not quince my thrust, I don't fell I need to make any changes in in my fluid choices. From physical activity my total average was 1680, divided by 3 equaled 560, my average amount of food consumed was 2088 (kcals). I consumed more kcals when both were divided by 3, my energy intake is not appropriate for my life style, I;m mostly sedentary, physical activity based on my life style, needs to be increased.
