Review Of Movie Clip 1: "Chapter 2"

1498 words - 6 pages

The movie here is chapter 2, it is basically about a couple who tries to have a second chance in love. They seem to have two main issues, the first is that they did not seem to get to know each other completely and the second that George Schneider widows’ death is something he has not completely dealt with, lacking closure with this phase of his life, creating issues with his attempts to start over. George, seems to not only be bothered by the fact that he loved and lost, but that Jennie Maclainenhis new wife is not conflictive about him being doubtful about a new beginning. George expects her to be upset, ask a lot of questions, and create a situation where he needs to be defensive, and this makes him unsure because instead he receives complete support and 100% love, making him more confuse.
Jennie, is going through her own struggles trying to figure out what she is suppose to do. She is so kind, and understanding that it confuses her, because she wants George to explain to her what he needs , or for him open up to her, but he just closes up. One of the main issues here is their lack of adequate communication, after George fun himself remembering Barbara his dead wife during their honeymoon, their communication was not the same. They would have superficial conversations, where they kind of spoke about weather or food, but ignoring and avoiding the real issues. This seems to be a clear sign of avoidance of communication, if maybe George would open up to her then maybe he could let Jennie know that he does love her but the memory of his beloved dead wife still haunts him. At the end Jennie gave him his space and allowed him to grieve in his own way without pressuring and respecting his space. Also by letting him know that she valued herself regardless of what he may think and that at the end if they ended was because he did not appreciate what he had with her and she was not going to give up on him that easily.
Movie Clip #2: Kramer vs. Kramer
This film is a very emotional film for it discusses the aspect of divorce, dealing with the lost of your partner. Another issue which is very important is how a child left in the middle of the separation deals with it, and how the parent that is left to care for comforts and support the child. In this example the reason for the separation was the frustration of the mother, who felt not attended to, by her husband. Like in most homes the bread winner, needs to devote themselves to work, and at times this takes away from his life at home. In this specific case this situation was definitely the last drop of water which made the glass spilled for say. He had to give his company full attention for the last six months he had to priorities his job over family. After this was achieved he was still expected to be available for new clients 24/7 and he wanted to do, as a matter of fact he say he would be available 25/8 if necessary. His wife did not appreciate this because this left his home and...
