Theodore Robert Cowell, better known as Ted Bundy is one of the most well-known serial killers of the 20th century. Bundy took advantage of his good looks and charming personality to lure countless women. His regime began in Seattle, Washington in1974, until his arrest in 1978. The estimated murder count was from 30-100 victims. However, the final number is unknown until today.
Ted Bundy was born at the Elizabeth Lung Home for Unwed Mothers in Vermont to a woman named Eleanor Louise Cowell. His father was never identified; Eleanor’s family suspected that her abusive father was Bundy’s biological father. Bundy was raised by his grandparents, and was unaware that the woman he knew as his sister was in fact his biological mother. Throughout his childhood, Bundy believed his grandfather was a wonderful man, and treasured and respected his grandfather. However, the grandfather was known for being physical and emotionally abusive towards family members and family pets. In high school, Bundy was shy and socially awkward. In his adolescence, he began to peep into women’s windows; he stated that throughout his adolescence, he fantasized of sexual violence. As he developed and reached adulthood, his conduct become more anti-social, but no one would have predict the extent of his dysfunctional personality.
It is not known when or where Ted Bundy began his killing spree. However his earliest documented murder was in 1974; he was 27. He sexually assaulted her and caused extensive internal injuries. Lenz remained unconscious for ten days. She survived the attack, but was left with permanent brain damage. Days later, Bundy broke into another UW room of student, Lynda Ann Healy, who he killed and buried. The disappearances of many UW students began to worry the detectives of the Seattle department. While Bundy was struggling to place handcuffs on DaRonch, she was able to escape. Her survival would later assist police in the Bundy’s arrest.

The officer succeeded in pulling Bundy over, requesting to search his vehicle, and Bundy complied with the officer’s demands. As the search progressed, the police officer revealed a ski mask, another ski mask made from pantyhose, a crowbar, handcuffs, trash bags, a coil of rope, and an ice pick. Bundy claimed to the officer that the ski mask was for skiing and the other tools were just found. However, the officer recalled a similar suspect and same car description from a kidnapping victim who...
