The article, ‘Ten Principles to Aid the Quest for Peace in the Middle East’ was given by Jonathan Rietman in which he concentrated on key areas and issue that should be addressed to resolve the conflicts between Israel and Palestine. This article gives some assumptions and ten principles of negotiations that can be led a comprehensive settlement between these countries. By considering the issues of 11th September 2001, the government of United States of America has developed an international association to fight global terrorism. The Arab nations have a contribution in this association so that the American Government can support Palestinians to settle the issues with Israel.
Evaluation of Assumptions
The 10 principles given by the author are based on some assumptions. According to the first assumption Israel will enjoy its existence as a state of Jewish Majority at the international level; despite the numbers of Arab citizens are increasing. The second assumption stated the fact that the Palestine will also appear as the individual state at the international level. I am agreed with both of these assumptions because these are grounded on the policy of ‘Two State’ established by the government of USA and other regions.
According to the third assumption, government believes that the participation of the various countries and community will ensure the long stability of the regions and control the terrorism activities. The fourth assumption of this paper express that political agreements are not sufficient to control terrorism activities and settle the issues between Israel and Palestine. It is necessary for the government to develop bilateral and multilateral efforts to strengthen the power of nations (Reitman, 2002). Both of these assumptions are supportable because combined strength of unions and communities will reduce the threat of terrorist. International involvement of the countries is a good procedure towards peace solutions (Reitman, 2002).
All these assumptions are based on the security of humanity as well as society and nation. These are valid and reliable because supports of all the nations at the international level would be a great effort of the governments.
Analysis of Principles
The first principle of this conversion process suggests that, if both these regions want to reach at the end to the current standstill, which are existed in that county, the negotiation team should be changed. It has been supposed that the current negotiation team and leaders are not capable to resolve the issues because they are influenced by the other governments. The present negotiation team cannot settle these issues without harming the interest of any party. This is relevant principle because the incapability and unwillingness of two authorities can lose the faith of individuals, thus, it should be better to change the team (Pagell & Halperin, 2004). The team is not able to think strategically and communicate the information...
