At the end of the book, we know what we didn't know to begin with, that is, who committed the murder. Therefore, one of the prime interests in detective fiction is the solution of the mystery and why it happened. In detective fiction you have justice represented by a detective. The detective novel has a more ordered form and the crime is solved.The detective is a very private and detached man who uses his job to save himself from involvement with other human beings because of tragedies in his own life. His job is to observe and deduce. He is concerned not only with physical facts and material clues, but also with human nature. When the murder takes place, the detective comes in from the outside with his army of experts to solve it. The detective is a personification of order and reassurance and goodness. Morality is a central part of classical British literature in general. The detective novel is part of this British tradition.In a typical detective story, the detective is a male, distanced, closed and aloof.
