Have you ever wondered about International adoption? Well it is your lucky day. International adoption has changed so many kids’ lives! Think about you being a baby for adoption. You are in an orphanage. No International adoption only people in your country would be able to adopt you. However no one wanted you, but someone in a different country wants to adopt you. The reason I chose adoption
Here is some information about adoption in China. The reason I chose the topic I did was because I was adopted from China. Here are a few facts about my adoption. I don’t know a whole lot but here is what I know. Well I know that I came from an orphanage. The reason my parents didn’t go to orphanage was it was too far away. So how my parents received me was someone took me to a hotel, and that is where my parents met me for the first time.
Here is some information about the adoption process. So how the adoption process works is you fill out a lot of paper work! The whole process takes about two years before they got the news they got to come to China and get me! Still today in China they have the 1 child rule per-family, and to have more children you have to pay the government money. My parents went to China with 6 other families who were also adopting. I talked to my parents and they said the hardest part for them was not knowing when my parents would acutely get to go and receive me and technically become my parents. They knew adopting was right for them when they got me. That was how they knew adopting was right for them.
Here are some of the rules that might keep you from adopting! Some of the rules I thought wow just because of things like age, weight, income, health, marital status may not let you adopt. Those were just restrictions! Here are a few rules that were new at the time. The people couldn’t adopt because age, weight, income, health, marital status. That was a big shock to me!

How you begin to adopt is there are 8 steps. Here they are, Initial Consultation and Adoption Assessment, Dossier Consulting (Dragon Dossier Service also available) Matching, Referral Education, Travel Coordination, Trip to China, Post Adoption. The worst law in China is the 1 child law. So those are the 8 steps. My parents went through all of that just to adopt me.

So Central authority only let orphanages put a small amount of babies up for adoption leaving a big number of kids behind. Not right. Don’t worry the law changed.
