The Assassination of John F Kennedy
From source B we can learn many things about JFK's assassination. We
learn that JFK was hit by 2 shots the second one killing him
apparently hitting from the back, into his right temple.
Source B also stated that 3 shots were fired from the sixth floor of
the Texas schoolbook depository. The rifleman was named Lee Harvey
Oswald. Source B declares the assassination weapon to be a Mannlincher
- carcano rifle. Source B written by the Warren Commission states
Oswald had no accomplices. To me this seems quite unbelievable. People
who knew him in the marines said he had a 'Pathetic Shot.' The gun he
apparently used would not be a weapon likely to be used in an
assassination attempt, as it was such a poor weapon. I think source B
is very unbelievable, as it was written by the Warren Commission, so
therefore could be biased.
How useful is Source A in supporting the View of Source B, that Lee
Harvey Oswald was responsible for the assassination of John F Kennedy?
Source A support's source B as it shows Oswald's movements. Source A
states that he was at the Schoolbook depository, as he was stopped by
a policeman on the second floor of the building one minute after
president Kennedy was shot. Source B claims Oswald had no accomplices
and this could be backed up by the fact that Oswald used public
transport, so therefore did not have a getaway driver.
The next movements of Oswald were important. They infer Oswald was in
a hurry, as when the bus got caught in traffic at 12:44 hours, Oswald
got off the bus and took a taxi at the next junction at 12:48. This
could show Oswald would have known officials were after him due to the
evidence he left behind.
Source A states he went to his lodgings at 12:54 then at 1:03 he left
his lodgings. At 1:16 he killed officer Tippit. Who had tried to stop
him. This action could show that Oswald was showing signs of guilt. At
1:40 Oswald arrived at the Texas Theatre, ten minutes later he was
Although source B supports source A, source A shows no hard evidence
of Oswald assassinating president Kennedy. As convincing as the
evidence from both sources are written by the Warren Commission who
had more intent in covering up a conspiracy and restoring the faith of
citizens in the U.S government. The sources could have been tampered
with to back one another up, making people believe this and restore
their faith in the U.S government.
In what ways does the evidence of Sources C, D, E & F help you
understand why the Warren Commission came up with the theory that Lee
Harvey Oswald acted alone in the murder of JFK?
Sources C, D, E, and F help you understand the Warren Commissions
theory that Oswald killed JFK as it shows the following hard evidence.
Source C states that Oswald forged his identity to obtain a gun ...
