In the world we are living in today people have to be aware of their surroundings and take precautionary steps to prevent certain things from happening. As I started to watch the movie “Contagion” it was strange to me. They showed different people mainly in Asian countries and one american woman being sick with something that appeared to be the flu.
The movie started off with one lady who supposedly is on a business trip she was coughing and her nose was red. The American woman who was being played by Gwyneth Paltrow came home to her family she dies from the unknown virus and shortly after that her son had similar symptoms and then died. The movie then continued showing people who were sick with symptoms of the flu. The virus moved quickly, the final stage is the person will fall have seizures foaming at the mouth.
As the virus progressed people started to get out of control. They weren't being properly informed and supplies were limited. It was hard to keep people under control when they know that their not being treated fairly. People in higher places were getting treatment before everyone else. They did not want that information getting out and when it did the claimed the accusations that were being placed upon them were false.
Ultimately the CDC rushed a vaccine to the public. The journalist who were keeping track of every step of the virus throughout the movie was skeptical about the new vaccine. He thought that enough research wasn't done on the vaccine . People probably wouldn't notice any side effects at first but years down the road it could possibly be a problem.
After watching the movie i became paranoid. I didn't trust anything, i wouldnt eat food that wasn't in a sealed packaged. In the movie people caught the virus from touching their faces and being in contact with one another and surfaces. I thought of how many times i touch my face, tables at school or poles on the bus. Contagion was so real to me because that could possibly happen at anytime without warning.
The main controversial biological issue in this movie was the MEV-1 virus . The biotechnology involved in this issue were the vaccines that the CDC created. The scientist were able to create the vaccines through genetic engineering. They isolate specific genes and insert them into the DNA of a cell. The cells that were injected with...
