Good afternoon students, I am very honoured to be called upon today, to speak to you on a very emotional issue which is the dark side of bullying. This issue has become commonplace in modern society especially among you teenagers and therefor needs to be addressed.Bullying is a very emotional and prominent issue accross the world today. For many years now, this issue has been present and it seems as if, day by day, the fatal consquences bullying has on the society and individuals is increasing. Bullying is put in simple terms as the act of treating someone abusively both physically and emotionally. As teenagers, many of us have witnessed someone being bullied and therefore feel the pain that bullting entails. Bullying has a very dark side and brings about so many negative consequences in society.
Bullying can take many forms and has dire consequences especially on young people. Bullying ranges from the bullies using physical force to intimidate their victims, bullies hurling insults at their victims to one or the most ignored for, name calling. Bullying is often referred to, as a crime because of the serious effects it can have on the victim. Name calling for example, may not cause the victim bruises and scars, but builds on the insecurities the young child already has and can also cause pyschological damage to the victim.
As some of you may already know, bullying at its apex, can end in a devastating demise. Though this is not always the case, there have been many instances where young people have committed suicide to prevent bullying. Also, the victim is murdered by the tomentor through some violent act. Bullies are delinquents. They offend the victim by destroying their self esteem and confidence until the worst such as death, happens.
The oppressor usually has no valid reasons for the victims they choose. The victims of bullying are made targets for various reasons with a major reason being that the victim may be intelligeng and very good at school work. Normally, schools have students that are so...
