Why is the feeding technique and decision so important for new mothers? Many new mothers believe that it is their duty to make sure that their child has a good nutritional start. When it comes to becoming a mother, numerous questions and concerns come up; however, women have many differences on how they prefer to take care of their baby. One of the many choices that a mother makes is the feeding method or process. A mother can decide whether or not she wants to use breast milk or formula. Every mother wants what is best for their baby. Deciding whether to use breast milk or formula is a very significant decision for a new mother. While both breast milk and baby formula both offer nutrients, they both differ in costs, convenience, and flexibility.
One of the ways breast milk differs from baby formula is the cost. Breast milk is free. Mothers can nurse their baby right from their breast without having to purchase bottles, and other feeding materials. For example mothers can breast-feed their babies the whole time the baby is an infant without having to spend any money on milk. Another way breast milk differs from formula is the convenience. Breast milk is very convenient. For example, a mother does not have to worry about last minute runs to the store; therefore the nursing mother can easily feed the baby from her breast. In addition the mother does not have to worry about warming up a bottle, because the baby is being feed from the mother’s breast. In this case, the milk is already warm because the milk is from the mother’s body. The last way breast milk differs from formula is the flexibility. Breast milk is very flexible because a mother can pump milk from her breast and freeze the breast milk for later uses. As a result, both parents can also feed their baby if the mother pumps milk from her breast and put the milk in bottles.
