Acupuncture is a treatment method that has been undergoing many years in Chinese history. Throughout the clinical practices, it was later discovered the concepts of meridians channels .According to "Huang Di Neijing", one of the earliest Chinese literature, entailed Meridians and acupoints, as well as the basic theories of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. Both meridians and collaterals are essentially to transport qi and blood, nourish yin and yang. Meridians refer to the longitudinal trunk parks of the meridian system. The twelve meridians expound the routes and connect different parts of the body based on the clinical application of acupoints. The system extends and distribute to each end of the body, forming a unique medical aspect within the anatomical structure, also the microsystem.
Karl Pribram, a neuropsychologist concluded that the brain was holographic ally structured and the memory is distributed all over the body in a holographic fashion. This phenomenon developed an interesting principle "Every piece contains the essence of the whole.” which generalized the microsystem concept(Soliman,N.E, Nov, 2006, Three-phase Hand Acupuncture: A new discovery inspired by the Auricular Acupuncture Microsystem) Microsystems( Human parts such as the ear, feet, hand, tongue and the scalp ) appear to be holographic microcosmic projections that provide a unique approach to patients' health problems. These projections can be used as diagnosis and treatment of many pathophysiologic conditions. This paper focus on the microsystem, the technique of the treatment and how the treatment beneficial to human health.
Ear acupuncture is commonly used in therapy in clinical acupuncture treatment. Based on the graph, the distribution of ears demonstrates the corresponding relationship between auricular acu-points and human body parts, the distribution of auricular acu-points are like an inverted fetus. The acu-points located in the ear lobe, are related to the head and face. Points located in the upper part of ear are related to the limbs. Those in the middle and interior related to the internal organs (Philips, 1999). When pathological changes have taken place in human body, "positive reaction point can be detected at the corresponding area of the auricle, such as tenderness, discoloration and pigmentation. ()
In 19th century Dr.Paul Nogier successfully treated patients by ear stimulation, which later developed into auricular reflex therapy. Based on his principle, the ear is densely innervated by five different afferent nerves of somatic and visceral nature. The first two are typically somatic afferents; the others belong to the visual afferents. Yet there has not been a uniform distribution of nerves on the auricle as the nerves are widely spread out and overlap each other. Based on the illustrated text from Chinese classics, the ear structure was reflected as the anatomical parts of the fetus. (Philips, Steve.1999. "Acupuncture...
