In this day and age, where our whole life and practices are dominated by technology, it’s imperative that we learn to use these innovations without letting it harm us. Most people would agree that technology has made our lives a bit more relaxing and very easy to live. These newer technological innovations have helped us to accomplish task that we were not able to do in the past. Now, to write all the positive things about technology will take a long list, but us humans tend to forget with these positive impacts technology can effect us in negative way as well. Technology has a downside, so for example whenever a new phone or device comes out in the market people get really excited and sometimes even wait at twelve midnight to be the first one’s to get it. Now, others just wait and see if there’s technical problems or such. So than the people that waited hours to get this amazing phone or devices finds out that there is a problem. So, Basically in a way what I am trying to say is that these new innovations helps us for the short terms but eventually hurts us in the longer run. Since technology is very broad topic I decided to focus on two key points with technology. First, These new high tech computers allows virus to destroys computer, steal personal information, etc. Second with these new innovations people get addicted to the Internet.
Has there been a time when you open your computer and you see all these pop ups and getting these virus message. I remember it happen to me once and it was very frustrating and annoying at the same time. No matter how many X’s you clicked it just wouldn’t go away. Also sometimes when I wake up in the morning the first thing that my eyes seeing is opening Facebook, Instagram, or even Twitter. Does that say I have an addiction to social media sites or applications. All theses situations people go through sometimes all the time with these new high tech devices or computers. Yet, people still agree that these technological advance as helped us.
A computer virus is a program that infects your computer and makes copies of itself. Its goal is to damage or destroy or steal information. Many of us have gotten our computers or phones infected before with viruses before at one point or another, and some of us may still have infections, whether they be big or small. And we aren’t alone. According to Consumer Reports, viruses have affected 40% of all US households. Browsing the web is one of the biggest ways people get infected, and this activity is part of our daily lives, and necessarily so. When we browse the web, we run the risk of exposing sensitive personal information, and anything else in our system such as photos, documents, etc. That’s how many people get their identity and credit card information stolen.
