It has been millions and millions of years since dinosaurs have roamed the Earth, and they still capture the imagination and attention of scientists and researchers everywhere. Big, small, omnivore, herbivore, or carnivore, dinosaurs came in all different sizes with many different backgrounds. Many dinosaurs lived millions of years ago, and only a few are well known about. While everyone has heard of the Tyrannosaurus Rex or the Triceratops, there are many other unique and interesting dinosaurs to learn about. One of the most fascinating dinosaur species that are not often talked about is the Troodon formosus.

Until more fossils were found in 1969, the Troodon was grouped under the wrong genus before paleontologists recognized Stenonychosaurus as Troodon (Troodon-The Only Dinosaur That Could Pronounce Its Own Name).

Troodon formosus is one of the only dinosaurs that scientists believe not only lived in cold weather, but thrived in that climate largely due to its feathers for warmth and eyes (Troodon-The Only Dinosaur That Could Pronounce Its Own Name). It is believed that the Troodon formosus was a nocturnal dinosaur, hunting and feeding on its prey at night. Troodon formosus walked on two legs and usually walked on its toes. The dinosaur could run and when it ran, its sickle shaped claws were raised off the ground.
