The Unexamined Life
When Socrates stated that the unexamined life is not worth living he meant that life is not worth living if a person does not try to seek knowledge and wisdom on how to live a good life. Wisdom and knowledge help people realize and understand life, and find value and purpose in the life they are living. Socrates, educated people on how important it is to examine your life and decide exactly how you want to live in it, and don’t allow other people to decide how you’re going to live your life. People need to examine their lives and the world, to avoid making decisions without reasoning. If you examine your life you get to choose your destinations and set goals. You can decide the paths you’re going to take, decide how long those paths will take, and decide whether they’re right or wrong. We also get to decide between bad actions and good actions.
You must examine yourself every day to find the true meaning of life and to live a worthy one. We are all living in a world of progress and it is important to know yourself, and what you are doing because if you don’t, you will not be able to live a good life, and you will not be able to find your purpose in life. Also, without evolving, you will get left behind and you won’t be able to find a way out by yourself. Your life will end up full of frustrations, unhappiness, and hopeless. So, it is important to understand that you can only find the true meaning of life if you continue to seek it. You have to continue grow and allow the changes in your life to become a tradition if you want to live a worthy life.
However, just because someone examines his or her life, this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are living a worthy life. For some people, examination is the thought of doing things with bad intentions or trying to harm other people. For a virtuous person, examination is trying to gain knowledge, to use for the common good, and to “enrich the immortal soul”. Therefore,...
